Despite having studied Anatomy and understanding a lot of the related concepts very well, when I performed ThinkTac’s TACtivity where I had to prepare a ball-and-socket joint model myself, using plastic balls and pencils, not only did I have a lot of fun but also improved my clarity about the concept of the functioning of the joint. Me performing the activity is the first image that pops up in my mind when I hear ball-and-socket joint anywhere. It is as if the moment has been imprinted in my long-term memory. That’s hands-on learning: learning by doing.
