Telangana Catalyst for Future Ready Minds Workshop

Catalyst for Future Ready Minds

Workshop for Science (I - X) Teachers

23rd to 28th January

Background

It is said that ‘I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand.’ Is it sufficient to ‘do’ to understand?

If we place our hand on a plastic plate and a steel plate, which on feels cooler? Whose temperature is higher? If we measure the temperature we will note that both have the same temperature though steel plate feels colder. Is doing this activity sufficient to understand and explain the underlying reason? Further, how does this understanding apply to real life situations? How can the child develop competencies like Creative Thinking and Problem Solving that are critical to good careers in the future?

SCERT Telangana has entered into an MoU with ThinkTac offering programmes that help you address these questions with hands-on activities using simple, readily available household materials. The activities are aligned to the NCERT Science curriculum and help in developing conceptual mastery in a fun and engaging manner. The programme also develops key competencies like creativity, critical thinking and scientific & mathematical temper.

After attending the training, fill the feedback form and complete a quiz to receive the certificate.

A pilot programme will be conducted in three selected districts of Telangana - Nalgonda, Wanaparthy and Yadadri Bhuvanigiri - in the academic year 2022-23. An introductory workshop is being conducted online for the teachers of these three districts. In this workshop, you will acquire an overview of practical pedagogy that you can implement in your classroom with minimal effort and maximum impact:
